GSA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

This event is an opportunity for students, teachers, counselors, social workers, administrators and community members to meet, network, and participate in workshops designed to help everyone better understand and advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) students in central Pennsylvania and beyond. The GSA Leadership Summit is presented by The LGBT Center of Central PA, Planned Parenthood Keystone, and Dickinson College's Offices of LGBTQ Services and Diversity Initiatives.

Save the date! The 8th Annual GSA Leadership Summit is scheduled for February 20-21, 2015 at Dickinson College. The keynote speaker is Mara Keisling from National Center for Transgender Equality. We are currently seeking workshop proposals.

We are currently seeking workshop proposals for the 8th Annual GSA Leadership Summit. Submit a workshop proposal online by November 1, 2014.

We welcome proposals that present research-based findings related to “best practices” for high schools and colleges, as well as interactive sessions to help build the skills of high school and college student leaders of GSAs, and theoretical perspectives and their practical applications that provide educational experiences to attendees.

We especially encourage proposals that focus on topics including but not limited to: GSA technical assistance (including student leadership development, club fundraising strategies, creative ideas for programming, etc), building inclusive clubs, being an ally, Day of Silence planning, and racial and ethnic intersections with gender and sexuality. We are looking for broad range of topics and formats for workshops, and a diverse group of presenters. We are especially interested in having a mix of student and professional presenters.
