The
Central Pennsylvania LGBT Aging Network (CPLAN) is a new initiative of
the LGBT Center Coalition, aimed toward advocating on behalf of older
members of our community and providing social and educational outreach
for them. Elders, in particular, have unique challenges and deserve our
support and a feeling of inclusion within the LGBT community.
The
official mission of CPLAN is to “promote a positive and healthy quality
of life for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals in
central Pennsylvania by ensuring they continue to be supported,
respected, and connected as they advance in age.”
If you are interested in helping with event planning, advocacy, and
outreach, join CPLAN for its bi-weekly meetings. Meetings are the 2nd
and 4th Wednesdays of the month at 6:30 PM at MCC of the
Spirit (2973 Jefferson St. Harrisburg, PA, 17110). Bring a friend!
